Rome & The Vatican

If there's one place on this earth I always go back to with joy - it's Rome.

First of all you get two cities with the price of one. Well, to be more accurate, two countries in the price of one city. The Vatican - world's smallest state - is certainly something to see. Not just for catholics. There's beautiful art to see in the St. Peter's cathedral. The view from Michelangelo's dome is absolutely breathtaking. Mind you - if you are suffering from a heart condition or climbing narrow staircases is not your thing, you might have to pass. The elevator only takes you so far. But if you do decide to go on this adventure, it will reward you. The museum of the Vatican is also a must see. Though there is so much art to see that you'll have to choose what you'll miss. But on the bright side, you'll have a reason to go back.

Rome itself is very much alive and especially at night the little bistro's and restaurants are full of people. The restaurants near the famous sights are also the most expensive ones. If you take your time to walk around and check the side streets you'll find more cheaper restaurants with great quality. The food is as good as the tales tell. Rome is a museum on it's own. Where ever you walk, there's always something interesting and historical to see. Rome is very popular with tourists so if you choose to visit it during the summer, be prepared for crowds of people and long lines at the most popular sights.

Here are some pictures I've taken during my visits to Rome. I hope you enjoy them. I love Italy and I'm sure I'll visit it again. Hopefully soon!!

Just click on the first photo and you'll have a more pleasant viewing experience :)
